Endangered River, the Peace
This painting was based on a photo taken by Larry Peterson, and it is one that I feel really captures the essence of the mighty Peace. I've changed it a bit and added a few elements. I wanted to paint it because, once again, this magnificent river is in danger from those who have no idea of the value of such a river and river valley. I love this area!

Red Pears and Three Apples
Red Pears
Red fruit has such a luscious quality. Red Pears and Three Apples are acrylic paintings on board. The pears in Red Pears are sitting on a cloth with an A in the corner; the A stands for Arnott, my favorite grandmother's birth name.Three Apples

Sexual Attractions
Sexual Attractons is now in MLA for Port Moody-Coquitlam Joe Trasolini's office at 2608 St. John's Street, Port Moody for the next month. I painted it first as a 6 x 6 acrylic and then had fun painting a bigger version in watercolour. This is a Phalaenopsis orchid that I was given and it bloomed for a very long time - the perfect subject.

Love Lies Bleeding
Another plant I love - Amaranth can even be good eating. I'm not sure if I'm finished with this painting yet..but I think I am. Again, it was the backlit exuberant bloom and lime green leaves that caught my eye.
Green-winged Teal
I spotted these Green-winged Teal on a walk around Port Moody Inlet. I was captivated by the pattern of the water against their small elegant bodies. The painting was sold at the Port Moody Art Association's November 2012 show.

Steller's Jay
Steller's Jays are always at my window (I admit, I feed them), and I couldn't resist trying to capture the vivid blues of these aggressive, clamorous and beautiful birds.
